Jay Korner is an indiependent artist based in Gothenburg on the Swedish West Coast, who writes and performs songs inspired by the funk and soul scene from the early 70's.
Korner is influenced by legends like Buddy Miles, The Meters, Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone, James Brown, Commodores, T-Connection, and Bill Withers, just to name a few. He is also a big fan of contemporary artists like Nikka Costa, Smoove & Turrell, Jamiroquai, Orgone, Neal Francis, Dumpstaphunk, The Brooks, and Lettuce.
Jay's voice, lyrics and the strong influence from the early 70s, make his musical signature unique. The portfolio of songs is an irresistible funky cake with groovy drums, percussion and bass, awesome rhythmic guitar riffs, exquisite horns, smooth clavinet, Rhodes piano, and Hammond organ licks.

Jay is now back in the studio working on new tracks. However, it's a slow process due to day-time jobs for both Jay and Alex. They can only work in the weekends, and sometimes several months pass between studio sessions since it's tricky to find free studio slots. However, when they are working there's really good progress and a strong feeling that the end-result will be very exciting!
